Tariffs are on everyone’s minds and in the news everyday, whether you are a business owner or not, we all are affected by these tariffs in one way or another. Businesses are taxed with so many unknowns and unpredictable futures. In partnership with Bruce County, South Bruce is hosting a Tariffs Talk Business session on Wed. April 23rd from 7-8pm at the Teeswater Town Hall.
Jeff Loney, the Economic Development Manager at Bruce County will provide a very educational session with businesses about:
·how to understand tariffs
·available business resources
·how to look up your products
·entry level mitigation strategies
In addition, Helen Kodski from Bruce County will present a new program that was launched March 4th through Bruce County called the Energy Transition Initiative. This initiative will provide services to assist businesses in adopting clean energy solutions, fostering innovation and partnerships and accessing resources to support their transition. The project is funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.
The Energy Transition Initiative provides local businesses with resources to shift from high-carbon energy sources to lower-carbon or clean energy alternatives. This initiative will build connections between local businesses, suppliers of clean energy technology and services and funding organizations to support in making energy transition possible for local Bruce County businesses. Bruce County businesses will have access to support, cutting-edge resources, training and guidance to help with energy transition planning. This includes direction on regulations and financial incentives, developing formal energy transition plans and workshops.
Please spread the word on this informative session, everyone is welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there! The session is free, please RVSP to myself at rniesen@southbruce.ca or call 519-392-6623 ext. 241 so we can account for seating.
